Empowering couples to navigate career transitions and overcome life's challenges with the support of a Licensed Professional Counselor through psychotherapy.

Life has a way of raising the big questions: Why am I here? How do I manage the pressures of work, family, and change? How do I build deeper, more meaningful connections as a couple? At Lawrence Finkelstein, LPC, a licensed professional counselor, you’ll find thoughtful, experienced counseling tailored to your unique needs. My approach is compassionate, practical, and grounded in decades of real-world clinical and leadership experience. Together, we work to reduce overwhelm, strengthen insight, and help you move forward with clarity and confidence, whether you're facing a career transition or navigating relationship challenges. My professional background includes work with Rutgers Medical School, Beth Israel Hospital, Catholic Charities, and Integrity Health, as well as founding the consulting firm Transition Management Associates. I have also served as a consultant to The Covey Leadership Center, applying principles from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to both personal growth and professional effectiveness through psychotherapy. You don’t have to do it alone; experienced guidance can make all the difference.
Our individual counseling services, including support for career transition, are designed to help you overcome personal challenges and achieve your goals. Our licensed professional counselors provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behavior, and develop strategies for positive change. We also offer specialized psychotherapy for couples, addressing their unique dynamics and fostering healthier relationships.
Our couples counseling services, led by a Licensed Professional Counselor, can assist you and your partner in improving communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening your relationship. Whether you're facing challenges related to intimacy, trust, or navigating a career transition, our experienced therapists can help you work through these issues and achieve greater satisfaction in your relationship through effective psychotherapy.
Couples counseling can help you and your partner reconnect, communicate more openly, and move beyond the same painful arguments. Whether you’re facing a career transition, feeling distant, struggling with trust or intimacy, or simply stuck in patterns that aren’t working, you don’t have to figure it out alone. With over 40 years of experience, our licensed professional counselors provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where both partners can feel heard, understood, and empowered to build a stronger, more satisfying relationship through psychotherapy.
Our career counseling services are designed to assist individuals in navigating a career transition by identifying their strengths, interests, and values. We work with couples as well, helping them develop a comprehensive plan to achieve their career goals together. Our licensed professional counselors bring extensive experience to provide guidance on job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing skills, and more, ensuring you succeed in your chosen field. We have successfully coached every level of experience, from CEOs of large organizations to middle management and entry-level professionals.
At Lawrence Finkelstein LPC, we understand that career transition can be a significant source of stress for many individuals and couples. Our licensed professional counselors are dedicated to teaching effective mindfulness and stress management techniques that help you navigate these challenges. By incorporating mindfulness practices into your daily routine, you can improve focus, enhance emotional well-being, and cultivate resilience.
